What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapists help patients recover from acute or chronic injury, pain, spinal, neurological, and post-surgery conditions. They help patients of all ages from young children to the elderly, and all walks of life from work or home related conditions to professional athletes.

What conditions can physiotherapy help with?

Physiotherapy can help with a wide range of issues affecting the body's systems, including musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiovascular conditions.

What will happen during my first appointment?

  • The session will begin with a verbal and physical assessment to understand your condition and goals.

  • Your physiotherapist will explain their findings and discuss a personalized treatment plan with you.

  • A short treatment session, including hands-on care, education, or exercises, will often follow to start your recovery.

What should I wear?

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows for a full range of motion.

  • For lower body injury, bring shorts or flexible pants.

  • For upper body injury, bring t-shirt or tank top (females)

How long is an appointment?

  • Initial assessments take an hour (60 minutes), while follow-up sessions are often shorter (30 minutes), depending on your specific needs.

How many sessions will I need?

  • The number of visits varies depending on the individual's condition and needs.

  • Your physiotherapist will discuss a recommended treatment plan after the initial assessment.

Is physiotherapy covered by insurance?

  • Coverage varies depending on your specific insurance plan. It's recommended to confirm your benefits with your insurance provider beforehand.
